We first met Amy and Mesfin Tefera in 2021 when they were leading a YWAM (Youth With A Mission) base in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, focusing on evangelism, mercy ministry and discipleship training. Since then, Amy and Mesfin have moved their young family back to Australia to seek the Lord on the next steps for them in their mission. Amy still maintains a leadership role with YWAM Ethiopia, but from a distance, providing support and advice to those on the ground.
In the time since moving to Australia, it has been a season of rest and babies for the Tefera family, with 3 new children born since they came back and one child in heaven with Jesus. For Mesfin it has been a season of growth in maturity and adjustment to a radically different culture since coming to Australia. God has allowed them to be restored and strengthened again during this time. A new season is now beginning as God calls them again to a season of growth and planting.
Over the last 12 months, Amy has started a new role as a Family Support Worker at the Eastlakes Salvation Army Church. She is about to launch two new ministries that will open doors for people to know Jesus. One of these is The MumCo, which is an international mothers group and has resources available to mums in all walks of life. The other ministry is Messy Church which is a new way of doing church that makes a space for family units to do church together in the same space at the same time, whilst allowing for the mess in our lives and mess in the room as a lot of materials and activities are used!
In 2024 your support helped assist the Tefera family as they continue to regroup from their time serving on the ground in mission and find their feet in Australia. Amy and Mesfin have a wealth of missions experience and have a lot to teach us about what it means to be “Saved” in Jesus. While in Australia they have a heart to put their missions experience into practice in their everyday life, sharing their faith with those they come into contact with.
Your support of $2,000 will provide personal support for the Tefera family.
